Hundreds of beneficiaries receive equipment, business registration, and certificates in Umuahia
UMUAHIA, Abia State – It was a day of pleasant surprises on Saturday, May 31, 2026, as Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, FCA, CON, president of Masters Energy Group rolled out hundreds of fully funded Point-of-Sale POS terminals to beneficiaries across Abia State.
The empowerment, held at the Abia Rejoice Movement office in Umuahia, targeted members of Abia Rejoice Movement, Abia Arise, and small and medium scale business owners. Each beneficiary went home with a funded POS machine, support to register their business with the appropriate government authority, and an official certificate of registration.
For many recipients, the package represented more than equipment. It was a ready-to-run mini/medium scale financial services business, complete with legal documentation to operate formally from day one.
In a brief remark, Dr. Ogah said government at all levels continues to do a lot to improve citizens’ welfare, but noted that “the government can’t do everything.”
“As a concerned citizen, it gives me great joy to complement government efforts by creating direct economic opportunities for our people,” he stated. He added that the initiative was designed to promote financial inclusion, reduce unemployment, and expand access to banking services in underserved communities.
The Abia Rejoice Movement and Abia Arise platforms, which mobilized beneficiaries from all parts of the state, described the gesture as timely and impactful, especially for youths and women seeking to start small businesses with minimal capital.
Observers noted that POS businesses remain one of the fastest ways to create daily income and deepen financial access at the grassroots, making Dr. Ogah’s intervention both practical and sustainable.
