Sadiq Munir Isyaku Rabiu is a strategic and results-oriented professional with proven expertise in capacity development, business management, and extractive operations. He currently serves as the Special Assistant to the President on Capacity Development, where he leads initiatives to develop human capital, strengthen institutional effectiveness, and drive national productivity through skills development and cross-sector partnerships.
In this role, he has advanced Nigeria’s capacity-building agenda by facilitating partnerships with government institutions, international development institutions and the private sector, including collaborations with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) and the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC). Through these efforts, he has championed the integration of structured training, entrepreneurship support, and sustainable livelihoods into national policy frameworks. His work underscores the administration’s focus on harnessing Nigeria’s demographic potential to deliver inclusive and lasting growth.
Sadiq holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems and Management from Middlesex University, Dubai, and an MBA in Human Resources from Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja. His professional experience spans leadership positions in mining, logistics, and operations management. As Managing Director of SMR Mines Ltd., he oversaw large-scale mining and supply-chain operations across multiple states, achieving consistent efficiency and profitability targets. Under his leadership, the company optimised its logistics operations, coordinating over 200 trucks and securing reliable commodity exports, including coal, tin, gold, and lithium. His earlier roles at Malcommines Nig. Ltd. and Munirco International Ltd. further strengthened his expertise in strategic management, stakeholder relations, and market expansion.
Beyond his professional achievements, Sadiq is deeply committed to social impact. Through the SMR Foundation, which he founded in Kano State, he has supported the education, health, and empowerment of over 10,000 children and youth. The foundation has reintegrated out-of-school children into formal education, provided vocational training for unemployed youth, and facilitated access to basic healthcare in underserved communities.
A respected voice in Nigeria’s mining industry, Sadiq serves as Vice President of the Miners Association of Nigeria and is an active member of the National Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining Cooperative Society, where he continues to advocate for innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable practices.
