Senator Abba Moro Inaugurates Campaign Council, Says No Alternative To PDP

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro, PhD, on Monday, November 2, 2026, inaugurated his campaign council at Leach Hotel, Otukpo.

The council, which has a political juggernaut and an elder statesman, Chief Barr. John Ochoga, as the Chairman, and former Chairman of Otukpo LGA, Rt. Hon. Chief George Alli, as the Director General, is saddled with the responsibility of prosecuting the campaign for the re-election of the senator.

Senator Moro, in his speech, thanked everyone for honouring his invitation. He said the exclusion of some names from the list was not to undermine anybody, but that it was not possible to have everybody captured in the list.

His words;

It’s not to undermine anybody, it’s just that everybody cannot be contained in the list of the campaign council.

“If you are here already, it shows a high degree of commitment, and I appreciate you for that. All my supporters, both here and outside here, should see themselves as members of the campaign council and campaign management team.

“The assignment is very simple, but difficult. It’s simple in the sense that you are called upon to deliver a candidate of the party. Because Zone C is PDP, it is easy to go to your villages to convince our people to vote PDP. However, your assignment is difficult because we are in a competitive world. In politics, it is not over until it is over.

“We must not be complacent. We must not relax and believe that we have already won. We must go out there to talk to our people and convince them to vote for us,” he stated.

“Nobody should tell you to be tired of me or PDP as there’s no alternative to us for now.”

He highlighted his key achievements in legislation, and development projects covering the entire senatorial district and urged members of the campaign team to use them to challenge naysayers.

He assured the council of his support for them to succeed.

The PDP State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji commended Senator Moro for his achievements in the Senate. He assured the senator and the campaign team of the party’s full support to achieve victory in 2027.

In their separate goodwill messages, the representatives of the four federal constituencies in the senatorial district, members of other political parties in alliance with PDP, women and other group leaders, thanked Senator Moro for not disappointing in the senate. They assured him of their total support and full commitment to ensure that the he and other candidates of the party in the state emerge victorious in 2027.

Hon. Mrs Alice Albert, the PDP State Women Leader, speaking on behalf of women, said Senator Abba Moro had performed beyond expectations and would get the full support of women to go back to the Senate.

The Director General of the Campaign Management Team, Hon. George Alli, said the task ahead was simple because Senator Moro is a good product, having written his name in the hearts of Benue South people with his people-oriented legislative activities. He expressed optimism that the senator’s re-election in 2027 would be easier than his previous elections. He, however, urged members not to take anything for granted. He assured the senator that the management team would go from door-to-door with his story towards ensuring victory at the polls.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Campaign Council, Chief Barr. John Ochoga, said Senator Moro selected capable and competent hands to run his campaign, and assured they would not disappoint him.

Barr. Ochoga thanked the senator for finding members of the council worthy of the appointment and gave the assurance that, by God’s grace, victory would be secured.

He charged members to go to their various communities to preach PDP and Abba Moro, stating that PDP remained an organized political party.

The highpoint of the ceremony was the inauguration of the Campaign Council and the Management Team.

Dignitaries at the ceremony included the PDP State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, and his State Working Committee members from Zone C; Member representing Ohimini State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Isaac Ochekliye; Executive Director, North Central Development Commission, Hon. James Uloko; PDP Zonal EXCO members; House of Representatives and House of Assembly candidates from Zone C in the 2027 general elections; Former Commissioners, former local government chairmen and vice chairmen, members of the APC, NDC, ADC, LP and other party stakeholders.
