Chief Mmaduaburochukwu Christopher Attah’s passion for carpentry work and humanitarian service started early in his life. Born in 1985 in Umuzocha village, young Attah attended Udoka Primary School located inside St. Patrick Cathedral, Awka, Anambra State.
Later, he moved to Capital City Secondary School and then Amaenyi Secondary School. While in school, Attah developed a passion for carpentry and honed his skills at Jenkons Company while continuing his education. He later started producing high-quality furniture and gained a reputation for honesty and integrity, attracting many patrons and expanding his business. Eventually, he decided to leave school and concentrate on his growing business.
Despite his success, Attah remained committed to his community and continued to help those in his neighborhood. In 2007, after a dream in which he received a revelation, he founded the ABU Mmaduaburochukwu Foundation, registered it, and has since touched thousands of lives, including widows, students, youth, and families, helping to lift many out of poverty.
He expanded his business into real estate and established ABU Mmaduaboruchukwu Real Estate, ABU Transport and Logistics, ABU-MEDIA Network, and most recently, ABU Football Academy. Today, his conglomerate is one of the fastest-growing in Nigeria.
The ABU Mmaduaburochukwu Foundation is a non-government organization (NGO), founded in 2016 with the primary aim of improving the lives of disadvantaged people in society.
The foundation focuses on several key areas, including community service, education, health, women/youth empowerment, providing shelter for indigent families, talent hunts, etc.
The ABU Foundation addresses some of the most pressing challenges facing communities today, such as poverty, homelessness, and lack of access to education and basic resources. It has successfully removed plenty of kids off the street. Through the foundation, over 1,000 kids have had their dreams reawakened by the foundation providing them with scholarships to go to school.
Every year the Foundation carries out the ‘Back to School Programme’ where educational materials are distributed in selected schools. The foundation’s outreach covers Nigeria and some parts of Africa.
Attah’s selection by the Top10 Magazine as the Humanitarian Service Icon of the Year is in recognition of the outstanding humanitarian gestures and commitment of ABU Mmaduaburochukwu Foundation in touching lives in different ways over the years.
