Elder Statesman and APC Chieftain, Chief Dr. Mike Okibe has commended President Bola Tinubu GCFR, over the appointment of Senator George Akume as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, saying that the appointment has given the north central region a sense of belonging.

Chief Okibe said the President did not make a mistake in the appointment of the former Benue State Governor as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, adding that it was a great honour done to the people of the North Central.

Chief Onoja who gave the commendation when he paid the SGF a Congratulatory visit at his residence in Abuja on Sunday stated that Senator Akume was the perfect man for the job going by his experience in public service and in politics.
He said the visit was to show solidarity and equally congratulate him for the well-deserved appointment as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The Akanaba K’ Idoma pledged to give the SGF the needed support to succeed in his new assignment and advised him to work for the welfare of the people.
Responding, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume who said he was overwhelmed by the visit, solicited the support of the people for the Tinubu administration, saying that with only one month in office, the President has taken some bold and courageous decisions towards rescuing the country from economic stagnation.
He thanked Chief Mike Okibe for identifying with him and assured that he will use his office to make decisions that will benefit the people.
Chief Onoja during the visit interfaced with Chief Tilly Gyado, Chief Simon Shango and Benue State APC Chairman, Comrade Austin Agada, whom he praised for his doggedness and determination at ensuring that the party won various positions during the last election, including the governorship election and charged him to continue to lead the party to greater heights.
