Tuoyo Dudu, founder and CEO of Tudu Energy, is an inspiration to many young people in Nigeria. He is on a mission to light up Africa, create jobs and power industrialization by manufacturing solar systems, primarily to power SMEs and households.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria on March 16, 1991, Tuoyo attended Corona Primary School, Gbagada and Adesoye College, Offa, for his secondary school education. He holds a BBE degree in Financial Economics from Brock University, Ontario, Canada, and is a recipient of Intensive Solar Energy Design and Installation Certificate. He is an entrepreneur at business and a leader at heart who is very courageous with a keen sense of justice in decision-making.

Fondly called " Light of the World, he is on a journey to provide renewable energy for underserved African communities that would bring about development and provide jobs in abandoned places. He is Itsekiri from the Niger Delta hence he has decided to start with the riverine communities in his country, Nigeria, where Tudu Energy is supplying solar home systems to individuals and installing solar street lights. He is passionate about improving lives with clean energy and has over five years’ experience in the industry with a focus on off-grid and emerging markets.

While overseeing the affairs of Tudu Energy, the company has built a brand reputation for manufacturing quality solar systems to solve Nigeria’s overdependence on imported, expensive and substandard products as this continues to be a major concern fueling a mistrust for items such as solar systems and other solar products.
By making our products locally, Dudu said, we are building a Nigerian manufacturing base which will give Nigerians quality solar systems and products. For him, this is not a quick money-making scheme but a long-term project that will ensure solar availability and affordability for everyone especially Sub-Saharan African countries.
In recognition of his amazing work over the past few years, he was honoured with the Niger Delta Future Fest Prize Award for Young Person in Energy in August, 2022.
The Tuoyo Dudu Foundation is also building solar internet libraries in off-grid communities where children are currently lacking access to education. Here, those who are currently out of school are taught computer skills with access to up-to-date information. For him, this is a way to give back to his people as education is the most powerful weapon, we can use to change the world.
Tuoyo has always credited God’s guidance as well as his parents especially his mother for instilling in him love, hard work, courage and persistence which are values that have helped him achieve success in business and make impact in life. These characteristics have helped him stay focused over the years in attaining his dream of becoming a successful and innovative young business leader in the world.
