Dr. Ifeyinwa Nwakwesi, a conventional medical doctor, has turned her passion about God’s grace, growth mindset and integrative lifestyle into a legacy of leadership, impact and transformation.
An Old Student of Christ Church Primary School Uwani-Enugu; Queens School, Enugu; University of Jos; and University of Ibadan, Dr. Nwakwesi’s passions are too numerous to count off the fingers. But just to mention a few – she is passionate about providing profound knowledge strategies and skills which are missing in Nigeria’s educational curricula and parenting. She encourages children, youths, men and women to commit to personal development on a consistent and continuous basis to build true success. She is very passionate about working with like minds to improve the quality of citizenship and leadership so Nigeria can become the giant of Africa. Dr. Nwakwesi is also very passionate about the Women and Youth Impact Fund, one of her people-impact initiatives, which is very necessary to upscale women and youth and community impact in Nigeria.
She is passionate about encouraging women to be role models of good character, inspiring the younger generation to live passionate and impactful lives.
She is also very passionate about encouraging women, men and youths to acquire wisdom as well as formal certifications to be able to make empowering choices for empowering lives.
Dr. Nwakwesi carved out many of her leadership roles from these and other passions. She is the Executive Chair of Enugwu-Ukwu Daughters Community Development Initiative and the National Coordinator of Late Sir Felix Godson Nwenechukwu and Dame Monica Okoye Foundation for good parenting, healthy relationships and conflict resolution. She is a member of Ogbunike Progress Union, Women’s Wing, and a member of the Board of Trustees, Ogbunike Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Nwakwesi is the Executive Chair of Women Aligned for Growth (WAG) – a character rebuilding, social change and female impact NGO. WAG is the initiator of The Women and Youth Impact Fund structured by DI-Africa. WAG is also pushing for a mega-collaboration of female youth and community NGOs to activate a critical thinking sustainable strategic roadmap to upscale women and youth impact in Nigeria.
In the area of core entrepreneurship, Dr. Nwakwesi is the pioneer Managing Director of Fymak Marine and Oil Services – a crew supply vessel company; Director, Business Development at Eco Building Systems, manufacturers of panelised homes; Director of Fymak Farms Nigeria Ltd; and a pioneer Director of Guaranty Trust Bank.
Her various entrepreneurship and leadership roles have earned Dr. Nwakwesi local and international recognitions. She was conferred with one of the leading women entrepreneurs of the world in 2002 by Starz Group of USA.
She is the author of many books, including Become an Asset to Your World through Growth Mindset and Integrative Lifestyle; Achieve Vibrant Health through Growth Mindset and Integrative Lifestyle; Root causes of relationship and marital challenges and solutions; and Acquire Stress Coping Skills – Educational Journey.
She is married to her gift from God, Dr. Maduka Nwakwesi – who encourages, inspires and motivates her. They are blessed with family-oriented children, amazing spouses and 13 adorable grandchildren.
The selection of Dr. Ifeyinwa Nwakwesi as The Top10 Magazine’s Champion of Women Empowerment of the Year is in recognition of the outstanding humanitarian gestures and commitment of her foundation to touching lives in different ways over the years.
