The Opolo ati Ewa Women Empowerment Initiative proudly announces its participation in the Global Climate Defense Corps (GCD) 2024 event, themed “Clean the Gutters, Keeping the Floods Away.” The walk is scheduled for Saturday, 12th October 2024, starting at 8:00 AM, with participants gathering at Isheri Roundabout, Idimu-Ikotun Road.

This walk is organized to raise awareness about the pressing impact of climate change on our environment, particularly the contribution of human activities to flooding and environmental degradation. The initiative aims to educate the public about the importance of keeping our surroundings clean and taking collective action to protect against floods—an increasingly dangerous consequence of global climate shifts.

Opolo ati Ewa Women Empowerment Initiative, founded in December 2019 by Chief Adenike Olumide-Emmanuel, is committed to uplifting women through both business and emotional empowerment. Through initiatives like this walk, the organization also shows its dedication to advocating for environmental sustainability and community well-being.
