Stanley Uzochukwu – Nigeria’s Top 10 CEO’S 2017

Stanley Uzochukwu is chairman/CEO, Stanel Group, which has interest in oil and gas, production and sales of automobile parts, lubricants, food among others. His flagship company, Stanel Oil was registered in 2012, which was a formalization of the business of diesel and other petroleum products supply be started after graduating in Botany from the University of Jos.

Uzochukwu is rated as a young entrepreneurial success story, whose success is built on focus, passion, discipline and determination.

His oil and gas business specializes in marketing of premium motor spirit, diesel and kerosene. It holds firm to its promise of a regulated standard service across the country in product, quality and efficiency. Its strength for keeping its promise stems from the varied depots from which it lifts its products and the number of trucks and drivers in its fleet, according to the company’s reports.

The company boasts a scale of operation capable of delivering the quality and quantity of products required to keep generators running all year round. Petroleum products distribution is carried out by long shuttle trucks that reach clients far and wide.

 Stanel has extended its downstream operations by venturing into refineries. Further to that, it is building a network of pipelines and depots running through the length and breadth of Nigeria to link up the refineries. It has built a 1.5 million-litre gas capacity plant located in Anambra State.

The automobile arm of the group runs car maintenance centres fitted with cutting edge equipment, which include wheel balancing, rim straightening machine, break disk repair and calibration equipment. It also has in place express oil change and car servicing facilities, car wash services, computerized check engine service, tyre changing equipment, among others.

The automobile centres are designed to enthrone maintenance culture in that segment of the Nigerian market, which has positioned the company in a large growth area in the economy. The company said the objective primarily is to increase longevity of automotive and car parts susceptible to wear and tear.

The company’s automobile business incorporates tyre service centres that offer 3D alignment services that permit accuracy on vehicles.  This covers supply and fitting of tyres of different sizes and profiles anywhere the client may be located – home, workplace or other areas. In this way, the company is providing quality services to busy people and at the same time saving their productive time.

Stanel produces customized products, which include Stanel tyres, Stanel engine oil, Stanel gas cylinders, etc.

Last July, Uzochukwu opened a 24-hour ultramodern luxury centre [Stanel World] in Akwa, Anambra State, which is said to be a replica of the one he earlier built in Jos. The 1.5 million capacity facility incorporates a large farmers’ market (where fruits, vegetables and other farm produce are sold, French bakery, pharmacy store, automated car maintenance center, car wash, 1000 sitters capacity chapel, warehouse, supermarket, staff quarters, laundry, home delivery service, event centre and other products and services. The mega centre has provided various categories of jobs to over 700 youth.

Stanel Group has made a big move into the food business with a recent acquisition of Chicken Republic franchise for the entire south east region. The move is considered big enough to launch the company into a giant in the Nigeria’s food industry. Uzochukwu  has already built the biggest Chicken Republic outfit in the new mega centre.

Governor of Anambra  State, Willie Obiano described the mega centre as “ the first of its kind in the south east”. Uzochukwu made it to the Top 10 Magazine’s top 10 CEOs of the year, 2017 for presiding over one of the fastest growing companies in Nigeria in recent times.
